TV4 Anytime – Written by bassM

As a followup to the “TV4 Play” catalogue they have for quite some time offered a service called “TV4 Anytime”. Here you can see most of the things transmitted on TV4. Some content are for free and some you pay for. Read more about the different methods of payment at http://anytime.tv4.se/webtv/
At that address you can create your user account and then start up Plex and enter your credentials.

TVKaista – Written by bassM

Watch content from the finnish NetPvr-service tvkaista.fi in plex. Requires a subscription to the service, sign up at tvkaista.fi for access.

HDHomeRun – Written by Tony C

Manage and play video stream from an HDHomeRun device.

The HDHomeRun plugin allows you to set your device and location so that you can download channel data from the SiliconDust website, then (manually) you can verify which channels and which you want to include in your main channel playlist. It takes care of forming the correct stream URLs for the device and channel data, including being able to switch to using the other tuner (when you have multiple tuners). You can also manually add HDHomeRun stream URLs for the case where the SiliconDust site is lacking.

Additional features include being able to change each channel’s display name and icon, as well as being able to see the full channel details.

This plugin is currently focused on using the HDHomeRun device for playing broadcast TV stations. It should work with other tuner settings, but the skinning and testing has only been done focusing on the US broadcast tuner setup.

Without an HDHomeRun device on your local network, all the features of the plugin will works with the exception of being able to actually play the streams.

Adobe.tv – Written by Sander Spies

Canal+ – Written by Meuhcoin

Ce plugin permet l’accès à toutes les vidéos disponibles sur le site de la chaine Canal+. ABC iView – Written by Dave C

iView presents a range of programs from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s TV stations, as well as some exclusive to iView. Shows include local news, documentaries, and culture programs as well as a number of popular comedy and drama series.

Okay, so this really isn’t Plex related but I’m sure Apple Legal is gonna enjoy this.  We were in Staples today and noticed the pictures below.  I especially like how they use the Disk Utility icon for Virus removal.  I’m sure this service is about as good as Best Buy’s optimization services.

Just a quick note I’ve updated the Help section in Plex with an extra 7 videos today! Also included is a new Troubleshooting section which is aimed at helping get out of a bind.  New videos include:

• View iPhoto Library
• Watching your shows
• Adding Last.FM Support (Thanks to Phunkysai)
• Adding Remote iPhoto
• Wrong Movies
• Missing Shows

We have updated both the WordPress and the wiki to the latest versions.  Let us know if you have any issues! (Oh and a new release is up now, Elan will be blogging shortly!)

Over the last few days we have been slowly moving to a new hosting provider.  We started to slowly outgrow our previous host and thanks to all our users started to require more bandwidth!  Just now I put the finishing touches on moving the last of our sites over and everything should work just as it did before, no loss of data.  Total downtime was around 20 minutes.  Hopefully we should see a little faster response now that we are on a faster connection.

I would like to thank liquidgravity.com for graciously providing a VPS for us to use.  They were very helpful with the migration and quick to respond to issues.  By all means, Check them out if you are in need of a host.

Also I would like to thank Cayce, who had been keeping our site up and running since we first started almost a year ago.  He has put up with us crashing on his internet connection like that friend in college who doesn’t pay rent.  Without his Xserve we would have never been able to setup trac, forums, wiki, blogs, www, etc. in the first place.
